    Gann's Visual Arts program prepares students to be creators and consumers of art. Both Studio and Media arts students gain valuable hands-on experience with a range of artistic tools. Our program encourages students to connect creative practices to the greater global community though exploring new cultures and artistic traditions.

    Visual Arts: A Closer Look

    Peer-to-Peer Feedback

    A cornerstone of all visual arts classes is the practice of giving and receiving feedback. Students learn what thoughtful, growth-oriented, and constructive critique entails and practice this vital skill with artworks in process and at the final stages of creation.

    Senior Portfolios

    Many visual arts students create portfolios for college applications and summer programs. Seniors can take the Senior Portfolio Module their fall semester to have dedicated time to work with their teacher and peers on curating a representative body of work from their years in the program.

    Applied Graphic Design

    All Gann students have access to the Adobe Suite, software that is the professional industry standard for all visual artists. Students develop skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Premier and more to develop dynamic and eye-catching creations for print and digital media.

    Darkroom

    Students have the unique opportunity to take Darkroom photography, an age-old and hands-on technique that students love to explore.
